Devon Powers is Associate Professor, Dept. of Advertising in the School of Media and Communication at Temple University. She is the author of Writing the Record: The Village Voice and the Birth of Rock Criticism (UMass Press, 2013), and the editor (with Melissa Aronczyk) of Blowing Up the Brand: Critical Perspectives on Promotional Culture (Peter Lang, 2010). Powers is the Vice-Chair of the Popular Communication Division of the International Communication Association, and has published in journals such as New Media & Society, Journal of Consumer Culture, Popular Communication and Popular Music and Society.
